The Gathering is a floating population of improvisers in various media but mostly music which is spontaneously created in the moment. Gatherings are unstructured and non-conceptual, about collective interplay. It is open to go anywhere, depending on who is actually present at the time. It is an open-ended, free-form happening.

The Gathering was founded about 25 years ago by Maggie Nicolson, dancer and vocalising performer extraordinaire to allow for a creative space to play and explore without limits or judgement.

On these recording are Maggie Nicolson voice / piano, Ludek Salac guitar percussion Katerina Koblizek percussion / piano. Claire Turner voice /cello/ percussion, Chris Parfitt alto sax /voice
