Initially created as a paper fanzine in 2017, Dukes of Scuba grew out of a personal need to discover and document improvised and experimental music in Wales.
Over the last few years DOS has evolved into a webzine, label and concert/workshop series based in Bangor called 'Scratch'.
Across all of these activities the Dukes mission is to create a network for improvised music in Wales that will promote contemporary practice & unify existing grass roots groups, increase participation & widen the audience for practitioners working within the field of free improvisation.
